Act on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Consumer Matters
The purpose of the Act is to transpose Directive 2013/11/EU on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes and to implement Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 on online dispute resolution for consumer disputes.
Consumers have to be given the opportunity to resolve disputes regarding sales and service contracts free of charge outside the courts through arbitration entities, including in particular the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform alongside the civil justice offered by the state.
